Turkey intends to erect monuments to victims of the Armenian terrorist organization ASALA in various countries around the world, the Hurriyet newspaper reported.
The first such monument will be erected on Aug.27 in Canada's capital of Ottawa in honor of the Turkish diplomat Attila Altikat killed by ASALA terrorists 30 years ago.
According to the newspaper, Turkey took such a decision in response to the widespread propaganda of the so-called "Armenian genocide" by the Armenian Diaspora.
The Armenian Secret Army for the Liberation of Armenia (ASALA) has been functioning since 1975. ASALA was included in the list of terrorist organizations by the U.S. Department of State in the 1980's. As a result of assaults and murders of ASALA militants 46 people were killed and 299 others were wounded.
