The Caucasian House Cultural Center for Relations in Tbilisi has launched the Georgian-Russian dialogue for peace and cooperation project.
The aim of this initiative is to raise awareness of young people of Georgia and Russia participating in the project on the Georgian-Russian relations, as well as creating a platform for their cooperation.
The project provides for four meetings to be attended by 64 young people from each country. The first thematic meeting will be attended by political analysts.
Caucasian House has already announced a competition designed to identify participants of the project.
The project is funded by the British Foreign & Commonwealth Office under the "Foundation for the settlement of the conflict" programme.
Military actions were launched in the Georgian territory, South Ossetia on Aug.8 in 2008. Later the Russian troops occupied the Tskhinvali city and drove the Georgian military back. Russia
recognized the independence of Abkhazia and South Ossetia in late August. In response, Tbilisi broke off diplomatic relations with Moscow and announced two unrecognized republics as the occupied territories.
