Nino Katamadze to perform in Baku

Buta Arts Centre will present in Baku another concert of Nino Katamadze & INSIGHT Group with presentation of the new album GREEN. The concert will take place accompanied by ensemble of soloists "New Classics" and will be held on July 2 at the Green Theatre stage.

Nino Katamadze & INSIGHT - a complex, intelligent, otherworldly music. This is a detailed account of the philosophical life. Songs of the group force to think about the eternity of life, to empathize, to think, to compassion, and to hope. This is a clever music for lovers of serious art. The meaning of the band’s art is insight into the complex phenomena of life.

Last year alone, Nino Katamadze & INSIGHT gave more than hundred sold-out concerts in prestigious halls of Russia, the Baltics, Ukraine, United States and other countries. The new album GREEN was a clear continuation of the color album concept of Nino & INSIGHT (White/2006, Black/2006, Blue/2008), and issued only a year after the album RED, which was submitted by Buta Arts Center at last year's grand concert-presentation of Nino & INSIGHT in Baku, accompanied by all-beloved Georgian choral singings in performance of the ensemble "Tbilisi".

Now, the singer's discography palette was enriched by a long-awaited new album GREEN, recorded in Berlin. Georgian musicians have returned to more prudent forms of music - it is energy, turned not outward, but inward. With RED, the new album is united not only by singer's phenomenal voice, but also her colleagues desire for a dialogue with prominent artists-instrumentalists. Despite the fact that one of the characteristics of the music Nino & INSIGHT, the most common in the press release, is world music, the musicians in the GREEN ted jazz tradition, witty polemic against stereotypes of "smart" jazz.

In GREEN, there are also quite relevant rhythmic structures, for example, the track «Gammai» is based on a strong break-beat skeleton. However, the audience loves Nino, first of all, for her ability to go down to the most primitive level of melodic, with the ability to pour out the soul in a simple but plaintive lyrical melodies coming from the Georgian music, but relevant in any part of the universe. Such plays are also available in the new album. Songs «Vahagn» and «English» accurately respond to someone's lives - Nino sings as if she reads your thoughts and answers them in her language.

The ensemble of soloists "New Classics" in support of which concert of Nino Katamadze & INSIGHT will take place is a team consisting of the leading artists of orchestras under the baton of Vladimir Spivakov, Yuri Bashmet, Mark Gorenstein, Vladimir Fedoseev, Alexander Rudin. Spread of ensemble’s interests is from classical to jazz and contemporary arrangements. This is the necessary accompaniment of the ever-unpredictable Nino!
