Iran’s deputy foreign minister for Arab and African Affairs says the Islamic Republic supports the Syrian nation and government just as it has backed the Lebanese resistance movement Hezbollah.
“Tehran has always urged the [Syrian] administration and opposition to [resolve their disputes through] dialogue,” Hossein Amir-Abdollahian said in a meeting with Omani Deputy Prime Minister Fahd bin Mahmud al-Said in Muscat on Sunday.
“Iran supports the reform process [undertaken by] Syrian President Bashar al-Assad to realize the legitimate and peaceful demands of the people of this country; and rejects and condemns any foreign intervention in Syria by some outsiders who seek to wage conflicts and tribal wars there,” he added.
