Over the past 24 hours about 1,000 Syrians crossed Turkish border escaping unrest in the country, TRT Haber TV channel reported.
Syrian refugees were accommodated in the border camps. Turkey launched work to create a new camp for Syrian refugees seeking asylum in neighboring countries yesterday.
Last week a group of Syrian senior military officials, opposing the actions of the country's authorities, have fled across the border into Turkey.
Anti-government protests which began in mid-March have persisted in Syria for almost a year. Daily reports are being received about the deaths of people, both civilians and the security forces.
According to UN statistics, the total number of victims in the country exceeds 7,500 people.
The Syrian authorities accuse armed militants of the clashes saying they receive assistance from neighboring countries.
