Farid Mansurov tendering his resignation some days ago from the post of chief coach of the national team on Greco-Roman Wrestling has been appointed to the post of vice-president of Azerbaijan Wrestling Federation.

According to the Wrestling Federation of Azerbaijan citing Ajdar Jafarov, the secretary general of the Federation, the Olympic champion and double World Champion will operate as the vice-president of AWF according to the order of Fazil Mammadov, the president of the Federation.

“Farid Mansurov has offered his resignation some days ago from the post of chief coach by his own accord. The achievements obtained by him are sufficiently considerable in the history of sport of Azerbaijan. Even when sending in his papers he has declared to be ready for doing his best for development of the wrestling. And the guidance of AWF has taken this step with an eye to lead on Farid Mansurov to do his best for the sake of promulgation of wrestling among the Youth and the future development of the sport”, said Ajdar Jafarov.
