The youth chess Olympics involving chess players no older than 16 continues in Kojaeli (Turkey).
In the fifth round the national team of Azerbaijan was playing Iran. The match ended in a draw 2-2. Misratdin Isgandarov played black and won again, but Nijat Abasov lost white once again. Draw games were fixed in Kenan Izzet and Ulvi Bajarani’s games.
By results of five rounds the national team of Azerbaijan is fourth. It lags behind Georgians, who have 13.5 points. Also we are lagging behind Armenia (16 points) and Russia (14.5). Azerbaijani team has 13 points. Iran, Czech Republic and Malaysia are lagging by one point.
Today in the seventh round Azerbaijan will have a principal confrontation with Armenia, Russia is to play Georgia and Iran- Czech Republic.
The Olympic Games involve 26 teams to play in 10 rounds by the Swiss system. The last round is to be held on 31 October.
