The Youth Chess Olympics involving chess players below 16 continues in Kojaeli (Turkey).
In the third round, Azerbaijani national team beat the ranking favorite of the Russian tournament 2.5-1.5. The victory to our team was brought by Misratdin Isgandarov who beat Vladislav Terentiev on the fourth board. Nijat Abasov, Ulvi Bajarani and Kenan Izzet played a draw.
This is already the third victory of the Azerbaijani national team in three matches and it is among top three with 9 points. Armenia (10.5 points) and Georgia (10) also gained three victory. Under the rules of the contests, the main criteria are board points.
The next opponent of the national team of Azerbaijan will be the Indian team who is fourth with 8 points. Overall, the Olympic Games involve 26 teams to play in 10 rounds by the Swiss system. The last round is to be held on 31 October.
