The 6th International Children`s Chess Tournament started in Azerbaijan`s capital on Sunday. The tournament was organized by Azerbaijan Chess Federation`s Ganjlik chess club and the British School in Odlar Yurdu University.
Director of Odlar Yurdu School Andre Nel and head of the international tournament and Azerbaijani Honoured Master of Sports Gennady Gelman made speeches at the opening ceremony. The tournament brings together more than 40 chess players from Azerbaijan, Georgia, India, Poland, the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, Russia and the United Kingdom.
Prizes will be presented to the winners of the tournament by sponsors Bakcell, HP and Softline companies. The chief referee of the Swiss-system tournament is Nurali Mammadzade.
