The Executive Power of Gakh region held a meeting of representatives of the regional public with the winner of VI World Chess championship among the schoolchildren which recently ended in Kayseri, Turkey, the nine-year Gakh schoolgirl Khanim Balajayeva.
After the regional public and the champion laid flowers on the monument of national leader Heydar Aliyev, the head of the Executive Power Musa Shekiliyev addressed the meeting. He, in particular, said: “Today our hearts are overflowed by pride. And it is not casual. Representative of our region Khanim Balajayeva, successfully continuing chess traditions of Gakh region, became the world champion among nine-year old chess players. Earlier the international grand master Aynur Sofiyeva and FIDE master Parvana Ismayilova became champions.”
The head of Executive Power said that the successes won in the field of sports, are closely connected with the name of the national leader Heydar Aliyev. Thanks to attention and care of the great leader in 1994 the Youth and Sports Ministry was created in republic, and consecutive actions for strengthening of material base of sports are being carried out now. And these actions are continued successfully by President Ilham Aliyev. The measures undertaken by the head of state for development of sports and physical training get support by sports public of the country.
Then, the world champion Khanim Balajayeva and the winner of the World championship in Kharkov Ramin Mammadov thanked the countrymen for attention and care.
