A roundtable meeting on the “Popularization of the Chess Game: Experience, Perspectives and Plan of Action” has been held in Odessa, Ukraine.
The event brought together famous chess figures, including President of World Chess Federation (FIDE) Kirsan Ilyumzhinov, President of the Association of Chess Professionals Vadim Morokhovsky and President of Turkish Chess Federation Ali Nihat Yazici.
The aim of the roundtable was to explore ways of developing chess and prepare an action plan for the international chess society. The meeting participants also discussed possibilities of including chess in the Olympic program. Azerbaijan's grandmaster Vugar Hashimov participated in the event.
