Argentine Gerardo 'Tata' Martino is already in Barcelona to sign his contract and be presented as the club's coach on Friday at 1pm (11am GMT).

The new Barça coach landed today on an Aerolíneas Argentinas flight that arrived with a short delay into Terminal 1 where he was met by a small group of supporters of his old club Newell's Old Boys, together with a banner that read "13,000 kilometres cannot separate us".

'Tata', as he is nicknamed, was met by Andoni Zubizarreta, the club's Director of Football, who accompanied the coach to the club's offices so he could see for the first time what his new office is like.

Martino also found time to pose for the traditional photo before the FC Barcelona crest at the Barça offices.

The manager will sign a contract this Friday as the club's new coach for the next two seasons at 11.30am local time (9:30 GMT) before being officially unveiled to the press at 1pm (11:00 GMT).

After that, the Argentine will meet up with the squad in Oslo, Norway, where the first team will play its second friendly of the pre-season on Saturday against Valerenga.
