The draw of the prestigious World Military Football Cup 2013, scheduled for July 2-14 in Baku, Azerbaijan, has been held.

According to the draw, group A includes hosts, Azerbaijan, Mali, Canada, Iraq, as group B includes Bahrain, Algeria, France, Kenya, group D includes Qatar, Brazil, Netherlands, Cameroon and group C includes Oman, Germany, Ivory Coast and United States of America.

The draw process placed Azerbaijani team in Group A, in which the national team will face Mali on July 2, Canada on July 5 and Iraq on July 8 respectively.

The World Military Cup is a football competition for national military teams organized by the CISM. The tournament has been held since 1946 and was originally called the World Military Championship. The name changed for the 2001 edition. When the multi-sport Military World Games was set up in 1995 the football championship was incorporated into it, but it is still being held independently every two years.

The agreement to host the 16-team World Military Cup tournament in Azerbaijan was signed between Azerbaijan`s Defense Ministry and the International Military Sports Council (CISM) for the organization of the 1st CISM World Football Trophy 2013.

About 500 sportsmen and 100 delegations are expected to participate. The matches will be held in Shafa, Dalga, Bayil and Zira stadiums.

Azerbaijan has hosted several CISM events, having been a member of the CISM council since 1995 .
