Baku will host the World Cup on Sport Climbing (Speed) 2013 on June 22-23.
The co-organizers of the competition are the Air and Extreme Sports Federation of Azerbaijan (FAIREX) and the International Federation of Sport Climbing (IFSC). Azerbaijan`s Ministry of Sport and Youth supports the competition.
The event will bring together 69 athletes from 11 countries. IFSC President Marco Scolaris will be among spectators.
The IFSC, a non-governmental international association with a non-profit-making purpose of international interest, is created on January 27, 2007 and is a continuation of the International Council for Competition Climbing which was created in 1997.
Sport Climbing is on the shortlist to be added to the 2020 Olympic Games.
