Azerbaijan has confirmed its interest in hosting the World Chess Championship in 2013, according to FIDE President Kirsan Ilyumzhinov. The Azerbaijani Chess Federation has confirmed its participation in the 2013 bid, Ilyumzhinov said.
Long before the end of the Candidates' Tournament in London, the Azerbaijani delegation had expressed its readiness to join the bidding to host the World Championship in 2013, Gun.Az reported.
