3 988 948 sq m area was cleared of mines and unexploded ordnances (UXO) in Azerbaijan in September this year, press service of Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA) said.
726 UXOs, 6 antitank mines and 2 antipersonnel mines were disarmed.
480 specialists and 120 assistants, 6 mine clearing vehicle and 32 mine dogs participated in the operations.
173 652 942 sq m area of Azerbaijan has been cleared of mines and UXOs by ANAMA up to now. 663 873 mines and UXOs have been disarmed.
1 mine/UXO incident was recorded during September.
The agency is carrying out mine clearing operations in Aghdam, Aghstafa, Aghjabadi, Barda, Fuzuli, Goranboy, Goygol, Gazakh, Shamkir, Terter, territory of Absheron district Kirdaq Mud Volcanoes, at the same time in Guzdek settlement of Garadagh district of Baku.
