The protest action against the arrest of Nardaran residents Haji Ali Huseynov and Haji Hikmet Veliyev was postponed, Mashadi Natig Karmiov, member of Nardaran Village Council told APA that it was linked with not clearing up the negotiations on the issue.

"We do not have any problem with the Government. We try to solve misunderstanding. We received message from the Government yesterday on the fact that relevant bodies were taking measures on it. I hope that misunderstanding on the arrest of residents will be solved within three days and the protest action will not be held," he added.

The protest action is expected to take place today demanding release of Haji Ali Huseynov and Haji Hikmet Veliyev arrested during operations carried out by Interior Ministry’s Department Combating Grave Crimes on January 24 and February 3.

Criminal case was launched on the fact on Article 134 (threatening to kill or inflict serious bodily harm) of the Criminal Code over the threatening of Chairman of Citizen Solidarity Party and Member of Parliament Sabir Rustamkhanli in the picket held in Imam Huseyn Square of Nardaran on January 9. Nardaran resident Haji Ali Huseynov was detained on January 24 and sentenced to two-month imprisonment. Haji Hikmat Valiyev was detained on February 3.
