The Baku Appellate Court held a hearing on the appeal of Emil Suleymanov, former chief of the security service of the State Concern Azeri airlines and four other persons, said a sources from the Appellate Court.
The court was chaired by judge Sahibkhan Mirzoyev. The court, considering the claim groundless, dismissed it.
The claim stated the need to pass the verdict of "not guilty".
It should be noted that former chief of the security service of the Baku airport Emil Suleymanov is sentenced to 15 years of imprisonment, official of the Ministry of National Security Rafet Aliyev to 3 years, chief of the Operative regulation service of the said department Tamerlan Mikailov, electronic engineer of the service Tair Asadzade to 2.5 years and programmer of the service Faik Guliyev to 2 years,
Suleymanov is chargedĀ under articles 228.1 (illegal purchase, transfer, sale, storage, transportation or carrying arms, details and ammunitions (except for hunting rifle and ammunitions, explosives), 274 (high treason), 308 (abuse of powers) of the Criminal Code.
Mikailov is charged under articles 228.1, 234.1 (illegal purchase of storing of narcotic or psychotropic substances in the amounts, exceeding the volumes for personal use without the purpose of sale), 302.2 (violation of the legislation on operative search).
Asadzade was charged under articles 228.1, 302.2 and 308.1, R.Aliyev under articles 341.1 (abuse of powers, deliberate idleness of powers) and 341.2.2 (the same actions, committed with a use of guns).
