The Pardoning Commission under the President of Azerbaijan has finished discussions, concerning the decree of pardon, as reported by member of commission Vagif Samedoglu.
"The chairman of the commission Ramiz Mekhtiyev will probably present the list, worked out by results of discussions, to the President of the country. But the chairman might also convene us again", he announced.
V.Samedoglu said in a response to the question about the inclusion of imprisoned reporters to the list that the decree of pardon is passed depending on the committed crime rather than on profession. "There are doctors, teachers, military men, police officers, workers, businessmen, as well as reporters among people on the list. Only the President will decide who will fall under the decree", he explained.
He did not elaborate on the number of prisoners to fall under the decree.
"It can be decided only by the President. The list might include over 100 names and on the contrary, the number of pardoned people might be lower this year", he announced.
