"No floods are expected in the Kur river, if there are no strong showers. But if there is flood in the rivers, natural disasters will possibly happen," Azerbaijani Emergencies Minister Kamaladdin Heydarov told journalists.
He said that preventive measures have been taken to prevent possible floods in the Kyur. Noting that corresponding measures have been taken to clear the rivers from silt, the Minister expressed hope that the problems happened several years ago will not re-happen. Commenting on buildings in danger of collapse, Emergencies Minister said there are such buildings in Lenkeran and several other regions. "We have determined the buildings in danger of collapse. We appealed to the Cabinet on two buildings in Lenkeran. The problems will possibly be solved soon," the Minister said. The Minister added that corresponding commission will analyze whether newly-built buildings meet standards, APA reports. "Emergences Ministry is the member of this commission. If the commission does not accept these buildings, they will not be given orders and purchase deed. The buildings that will be approved by the commission will receive orders and purchase deeds" he said.
