During the clash with police in Azerbaijani northern region of Kachmaz, Gusar resident Araz Balabayov managed to escape. He is reported to have found a shelter in Daghistan.

APA's northern bureau contacted Khachmaz district's police office chief Javad Shikaliyev to clear up the information. The former said that Gusar police office was searching for Araz Balabayov. One of the probabilities is that Araz Balabayov found shelter in Daghistan.

A woman who phoned Khudat Police office said that he was threatened by unknown person. Arriving at that address police met Araz Balabayov’s resistance. He also had 2 TT automatic pistols and 4 grenades and police had no other way that let him go.

Gusar district resident Araz Balabayov who is a former militant of Chechnya illegal armed groups and a member of vahhabi sect is accused of fighting in Sadval separatist organization and committing crimes in Baku, Zaqatala and Gusar.
