Parliamentary Meeting on reproductive health problems in South Caucasus is being held in Baku.
Video trailer on reproductive health and gender problems was demonstrated at the meeting and some MPs made speech on the subject. UN Resident Coordinator Bruno Pouezat said he is pleased that 2007 was declared 'Youth Year' by Azerbaijani President, a lot of youth is represented in Azerbaijani Parliament and great attention is paid to this sphere in the Parliament. Ombudsperson Elmira Suleymanova stressed the importance of developing such programs as 'Initiative of Youth on reproductive heath in South Caucasus.' "Governmental organizations, NGOs and people are ready to deal with this problem," she said. The representative of State Committee on Family, Woman and Children Problems Sadaget Gakhramanova noted that measures on reproductive health of the youth and gender problems should start from the regions, APA reports.
