There are only 5 newsstands in Sabunchu district; three of them are in Bakikhanov settlement.

There is no newsstand in the center of the district, Sabunchu settlement. Official figures show that 320 000 people are registered in the district. 5 newsstands are not enough for such a district.

Director of the "Gaya" press distribution firm Khanhussein Aliyev told the APA that the firm has no newsstand in Sabunchu. If Baku Mayor's Office allows, the firm can open a newsstand in the district even today.

"We can open newsstands everywhere, as well as in Sabunchu with great pleasure. But Baku Mayor's Office does not allow it, without showing any reasons. We have not appealed to open newsstand concretely in Sabunchu. But I know that Mayor's Office will not allow it," he said.

Director of the "Gasid" press distribution firm Mirkazim Kazimov told the APA that this problem is in the competence of Baku Mayor's Office.

"Gasid is mostly engaged in the newspaper sale in Baku. We organize the newspaper sale in the regions, and are engaged in the subscription for newspapers. We have no newsstands in the districts of Baku," Vugar Safarov, "Azermetbuatyayim" Production Unity chief told the APA.
