Armenia's national championship ended this week. In the last three rounds hot competitions took place for the second spot between Yerevan's FC Banants and Ashtarak's FC Mika.
In the last round Banants beat Ulis 7-0 and finished 2nd, Mika beat Ararat 1-0. Thus, Banants won the second place which will entitle the club to represent Armenia at the CIS Independence Cup in Moscow in January that brings together champions from former Soviet republics. FC Pyunik that secured their sixth consecutive title three rounds before the end of the championships will not be allowed to participate after last year's incident when the club refused to play FC Neftchi Baku (Azerbaijan). /www.armenianow.com/
