Azerbaijan's Court of Grave Crimes continued the trial of the gang led by Haji Mammadov, former high ranking official of the Interior Ministry Crime Investigation Department.

The investigator of IM Crime Investigation Department Fazil Nejefov gave testimony on Azer Ismayilov's case. He said that he was investigating Ismayilov's telephone talks. "Azer talked with one of the phone numbers more than others. I phoned that number; it belonged to a woman called Lala. I met with Lala and she said that her husband's uncle works in our department. I talked to Haji Mammadov and after 10-15 days I was removed from Ismayilov's case to Criminalist Rovshen Aliyev's case. As to me, Haji and his relatives participated in his death. I found criminal Rauf Babayev's telephone number in Ismayilov's telephone directory. Rauf said that Azer detained him and released him after Haji's call. When I asked Kamil Sedreddinov about Azer's case, he said nothing because of my removal of the case and advised not to interfere," Nejefov said.

It got clear that Ismayilov had been followed. The cars belonged to Elchin Aliyev and his company. Najafov said that he told Haji Mammadov about Elchin Aliyev's relation with Lala. "I said about it after my talk to Lala. He said that it is a family problem. I said that I do not want to investigate the case because of his relative. Haji asked me to investigate the case. Then I told Haji that he and his relatives had connection to the case and he threatened me," Nejefov said.

Nejefov said that Criminalist Rovshen Aliyev did not participate in the investigation of Ismayilov's case. He said that Azer Ismayilov bought a mobile phone to talk to Aliyev's wife Lala. Accidentally, Aliyev answered to his call and he beat his wife.

Then the judge decided to hold the closed process because it was a family problem.

Afterwards, Khaleddin Mammadov gave testimony on the episode of Murad Kazimov's kidnapping.

The process will be continued on November 7, APA reports.
