The 18-strong Azerbaijani team led by head coach Vahid Eyvazov will attend the 9th SKIF World Championship organized by International Shotakan Karate-Do Federation.
The event, which is held once every three years, will bring together about 1500 karatekas from 75 countries in Tokyo, from 3 to 5 November. Eyvazov hopes that world champions Ogtay Mammadov and Gurban Tagiyev (60kg) will be successful at the event. International seminar will precede the competition. Yashar Bashirov, President of Azerbaijan National Karate-Do Federation is scheduled to meet with Hirokazu Kanazawa, President of International Shotakan Karate-Do Federation. AzerTAg
