"We are investigating the case of life-term prisoner Yuri Safaraliyev's suicide in Gobustan jail," said deputy Justice Minister, Penitentiary Service chief Nazim Alakbarov.
He told the APA they did not plan to dismiss the prison chief related to the case. Safarliyev said final decision will be after the investigation is over. "We cannot accuse anyone in the suicide, including the prison chief. Such events happen everywhere as well as in prisons. If the investigation proves any of our officer guilty in the self-murder, he is certain to be dismissed and arrested," he underlined.
