Azerbaijani human rights activists Saida Gojamanli, Novella Jafaroghlu and Elmira Alekberova monitored the Detention Place #1.

The activists got acquainted with the living conditions of detainees, quality of food and medical aid. She said the conditions are better in Detention Place #1 than in other places, APA reports.

"The detention place was repaired and new jobs were opened for prisoners by the initiative of Ramiz Guliyev, the prison chief. Prisoners are satisfied with their living conditions," she said.

Human right activists also met with National Hero Rasim Akberov, who is held in the detention place. They said he has problems with his health.

"Rasim Akberov cannot walk without help. He suffers from heart disease and pressure fluctuation. He has other problems with health. Rights defenders will appeal to the President for his releasing," she said.
