The national football team of Kazakhstan has started preparations for its next EURO-2008 qualifier against Azerbaijan September 6 in Baku.
It is going to be the second qualifier for Kazakhstan. It played the first one August 16 in Brussels against Belgium and drew 0:0, the Football Union of Kazkahstan (FSK) told Kazakhstan Today. The preparatory coaching will be carried out in Astana. The following players have been invited to participate by the coach brigade headed by Arno Pijpers: goalkeepers David Loria, Alexander Mokin (FC "Astana"), Yuri Novikov (FC "Shahter"); defenders Piraly Aliyev, Yegor Azovskiy, Alexander Kuchma, Maxim Zhalmagambetov (FC "Astana"), Samat Smakov, Farhadbek Irismetov, Kairat Utabayev (FC "Kairat"), Alexander Familtsev, Daniyar Mukanov (FC "Tobol"); halfbacks Anton Chichulin, Dmitry Byakov, Eduard Sergiyenko, Nikita Hohlov, Diaz Camelov (FC "Astana"), Andrei Karpovich (FC "Kairat"), Andrei Travin, Sergey Larin (FC "Alma-Ata"), Kairat Ashirbekov (FC "Aktobe"), Ruslan Baltiyev (FC "Moskva", Russia), Denis Rodionov (FC "Atyrau"); forwards Murat Tleshev, Maxim Azovskiy (FC "Astana"), Nurbol Zhumaskaliyev (FC "Tobol"). All players are at the team's disposal, except for Yuri Novikov, Andrei Travin, and Sergey Larin. They will join the others on August 31 after the semifinals of the Cup of Kazakhstan "Astana" - "Shahter" and "Alma-Ata" - "Irtysh" due to be played August 30. 21 out of these 26 players will go to Azerbaijan. The final lineup will be determined September 1. The team will depart for Baku from Astana September 4. /Gazeta.Kz/
