Court of Grave Crimes today continued the trial of the criminal gang led by Haji Mammadov, former high ranking official of Interior Ministry Crime Investigation Department.

Mammadov responded to questions of sufferers and their representatives. He said the Crime Investigation Department former chief Zakir Nasirov offered kidnapping of Zamira Hajiyeva, president of the International Bank of Azerbaijan Jahangir Hajiyev's wife.

"I cannot say who ordered the kidnapping here as it would not be good for Jahangir Hajiyev to know that. Money was not the main factor in kidnapping of Zamira Hajiyeva. I knew beforehand that it would not be good to do that," he said.

The defendant also said he has never kidnapped children, "I never wanted to kidnap a woman too. Jahangir knows well why his wife was kidnapped. During holding Zamira, we talked him a lot. I told him about the murder of journalist Elmar Huseynov and meetings of the Security Council at President. However, he did not say these in his testimony. But to tell the truth I was forced to kidnap Zamira and I told this in my testimony. And I do not know who ordered this as I only contacted Zakir Nasirov in this connection."

Mammadov disapproved the way National security Ministry conducted the investigation.

"Everything would have been disclosed, if the Security Ministry had wanted. The investigation ignores my testimonies on several attempts to terrorist act and assaulting on human beings. Ruslan Igushov's group and some of the defendants planned terrorist acts. The planned to attack a tourist bus to Turkey, kidnap the passengers to Chechnya and then demand $10 million from the Azerbaijani government for release. My gang members prevented this terrorist act," he said.

The court proceeding will continue today, APA reports.
