Azerbaijan team was led by senior coach Aslan Aqayev. The Azerbaijani team's best result was posted by Olympic and thrice European champion Namiq Abdullayev (55 kg) and twice European junior champion Elman Askerov (66 kg) who took the second spots in the tournament. Twice world junior champion Namiq Sevdiyev (55kg) ranked third.

This tournament was the last preparatory tournament for Azerbaijani wrestlers who will compete in the World Championship to be held in China from September 25 to October 1.
