Azerbaijani cultural and historical monuments in the territories occupied by Armenians suffered damage of $6.72bn.

Culture and Tourism Ministry official Fikret Babayev told journalists that 13 of global interest, 120 of country interest and 433 of local interest historical and cultural monuments were left in the occupied Azerbaijani lands, APA reports.

"13,000 precious pieces were stolen from Kalbajar history museum and 5,000 from Lachin history museum to Armenia. 927 libraries containing 4.6 million books were left in the occupied lands. Armenians stole 5,000 pieces from Shusha history museum, 1,000 from Azerbaijan Carpet Museum Shusha branch and State Karabakh History Museum, 3,000 from Agdam History Country-Study Museum, more than 6,000 from Zengilan history museum and 3,000 pieces from Gubadli state museum. In addition, 300 pieces were stolen from Uzeyir Hajibeyov's memorial house and 400 from Bulbul's memorial house," the Ministry official said.
