Iranian expert names Caspian Sea pollution sources.
Iran's sea environment specialist and member of the Caspian Sea environment research center while noting that 50 percent of former Soviet Union countries' agricultural activities and 60 percent of their industrial activities were carried out on the side lines of the Volga River said Aster khan's Volga Delta, Volga bay, Abshoroun Cape and the cape of Azerbaijan River were among the main polluting sources of the Caspian Sea. These countries are polluting the Caspian Sea. In addition they are polluting Iranian bays with oil and various microbes," said Saeed Husseini. As ISNA informs, this expert also referred to the Baku-Ceyhan oil pipeline as one of the most threatening sources of pollution in this area and a threat to the continuance of sea wild life in the Caspian Sea.
