A scientific meeting called "Shusha Summit of Cardiovascular Surgeons" was held in the city of Shusha, organized by the Society of Cardiovascular Surgery of Azerbaijan, with the support of the Ministry of Health, TABIB and the State Agency for Compulsory Medical Insurance. This event is the first scientific meeting held in our territories freed from occupation after the restoration of the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan. Azernews reports, citing Azertag that at the opening ceremony, the National Anthem of Azerbaijan was played and the memory of the martyrs was commemorated at the meeting attended by the representatives of relevant state institutions, doctors working in the field of cardiovascular surgery and cardiology in our country. Speaking at the event, Honorary Chairman of Azerbaijan Heart and Vascular Surgery, Professor Kamran Musayev emphasized the importance of the scientific medical meeting held for the first time in our cultural capital Shusha. He said that cardiovascular surgeons are proud, like every citizen of Azerbaijan, thanks to the great Victory won under the leadership of the President, Supreme Commander-in-Chief Muzaffar Ilham Aliyev. Emil Iskanderov, head of the Department of Continuing Medical Education of the Department of Medical Education and Innovations of TABIB, said in his speech that the scientific meeting of cardiovascular surgeons will make an important contribution to doctors discussing scientific innovations and exchanging experience. Ramil Aliyev, chairman of the Azerbaijan Heart and Vascular Surgery Society, pointed out that the program of the meeting includes the speeches of cardiovascular surgeons and cardiologists, and that both the speeches and discussions will be useful for the participants to update their knowledge and exchange experience. The meeting continued with panel discussions. Speakers "Minimally invasive techniques in the surgical treatment of congenital heart defects", "LAA closure in atrial fibrillation: for whom and when?", "Surgical approach to gunshot injury of the aortic arch", "Asymptomatic lower extremity peripheral arterial disease and intermittent claudication: 2024 year clinical practice guidelines", "Minimally Invasive valvular surgery: for whom and when?", "Diagnosis and drug treatment in functional mitral regurgitation", "Modern approach in the treatment of deep venous thrombosis" and "ECMO after open heart surgery: timing and tactics" made presentations and discussed the topics.
