17 February 2006 [15:40] - Today.Az
AFFA spread statement in regard to holding of the selection matches of the UEFA EURO-2006 between Azerbaijan and Armenia.

As Trend reports, the document says that the refusal from holding of the matches in the neutral territory by UEFA is not true. Lars-Kriter Olsson, the Secretary General, noted in the letter that the host of the football field was due to ensure safety of the match and the match itself was due to meet the principles of Fair play. "The venue of match is unknown, UEFA will make decision on this issue 16 days before the first game to take place," the message underlined.

It should be mentioned that earlier some media, noting the press service of the Armenian Football Federation, reported that UEFA declined Azerbaijan's request to hold the matches on the neutral field.
