Argentina`s leading newspaper “Pagina 12” has published an article headlined “Azerbaijan. The Land of Fire. Torches of the Caucasus”.
The author of the article is Graciela Cutuli, who speaks about the capital of Azerbaijan, which she calls “a modern city with architectural and historical monuments”.
Cutuli says specific architectural buildings in Baku fascinate everybody, including Icheri Sheher, Palace of the Shirvanshahs, and Walls of the Old City. The article highlights Azerbaijan`s modern buildings, monuments and landmark buildings, including Tower of Flames, Heydar Aliyev Center, the Flag Square, Crystal Hall, and Carpet Center.
The newspaper praises Baku nights: “Baku is one of the ten beautiful cities with its panorama at night”.
The article also featured photos of Azerbaijan`s must-see places, including Heydar Aliyev Center, Tower of Flames, Crystal Hall, Icheri Sheher and Maiden Tower.
Página/12 was founded on May 25, 1987, by journalist Jorge Lanata in association with writer Osvaldo Soriano and investigative journalist Horacio Verbitsky.
With a stark design, a daily circulation of 10,000 copies and a size of 16 pages that doubled within a few weeks, the paper was a sharp contrast with other Argentinean newspapers due to its progressive orientation, its in-depth articles (each one occupying more than a page on average) and rich analysis.
