President of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) Rovnag Abdullayev met the first vice-premier of Greece Dmitris Korkulas.

Speaking of the friendly and cooperation relations between the two countries, Abdullayev expressed confidence that these contacts would further expand. Abdullayev informed the guest about the latest projects the country realizes at home and abroad, noting that all these economic accomplishments base on the farsighted oil strategy of the national leader Heydar Aliyev.

First vice-premier of Greece Dmitris Korkulas expressed gratitude for cordial welcome and highly estimated establishment of close, useful relations between the two countries. “My country is interested in participation in the projects being implemented both in the country and within the European Union”, Korkulas stressed. He spoke of the prospects of Trans-Adriatic (TAP) project, Azerbaijan’s contribution to the energy security of Europe, noting, in particular, the EU’s great hopes for Azerbaijan.

The sides had comprehensive exchange of views on cooperation in the years to come.
