Draft age may be increased in Azerbaijan. Military sources reported that currently, this issue is being discussed at the Armed Forces and the other government agencies.
It is offered to increase draft age to 19 or 20, there are some common views on this issue.
The proposal is attributed to the fact that 18-year-old men are inexperienced, are not physically or psychologically prepared. The practices of other countries have been studied. It has been found out that some negative cases in the military service happened with the participation of new soldiers.
The abovementioned proposals will be likely discussed in the parliament this year.
