According to the National Hydrometeorology Department of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, currently, water richness holds 70-210% of decade norm in Guba-Khachmaz region rivers of Major Caucasus, 70-150% in Minor Caucasus rivers, 20-140% in Lankaran-Astara region rivers, while 60% in the rivers of Nakhichevan AR.


No considerable change of water level has been observed in Giragkesemen settlement of Kura river during the last days, but 2cm decrease has been issued on January 7. Currently water consumption holds 135 m3/sec in the settlement, i.e 82% of decade norm (in 2012, 107m3/sec, i.e 66% of decade norm).

In the course of last days, fall of water level was reported in Ayrichay settlement of Qanikh river and no change was observed on January 7. At present, water consumption holds 57 m3/sec, i.e 81% of decade norm. (in 2012, 69m3/sec, i.e 198% of decade norm).
Current condition in the downstream of Kura river

Throughout the last days, no considerable change of water level has been observed in the downstream of Kura river, nonetheless water level decrease has been reported on January 7. In this regard, 19cm decrease of water level has been issued in Surra settlement of Kura river, 9cm in Shirvan, 2cm in in Novruzlu settlement of Aras river, while 3 cm increase in Banka and 2cm in Salyan.

At present, water level holds 422cm (on January 8, 2012, 569cm) in Surra settlement, 323cm (on January 8, 2012, 467cm ) in Shirvan, 309cm (on January 8, 2012, 430cm) in Salyan, 254cm (on January 8, 2012, 307cm) in Banka, while 193 cm (on January 8, 2012, 285cm) in Novruzlu settlement of Aras river.
