Azerbaijani journalists have sent an appeal to international
organizations and the Iranian government to release illegally detained
Azerbaijani citizens, Farid Huseyn and Shahriyar Hajizade.
The event dedicated to the 137-th anniversary of the national press
was held by the Azerbaijani Association of Women Journalists and the
State Committee for Family, Women and Children. An appeal to the
leadership of UN, ISESCO, the Iranian president and supreme religious
leader was adopted.
The current state of Azerbaijani press, women's role in the
development of press, the problems in this area were discussed at the
conference "Educational role of press in covering the problems of
family, women and children".
Chairman of the committee Hijran Huseynova, chairman of the Press
Council Aflatun Amashov, head of the Media Support Fund under the
Azerbaijani President Vugar Safarli, MPs attended the event.
