The Institute of Oriental Studies named after academician Ziya Bunyadov of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) and private Georgian University signed a memorandum on Thursday.
The memorandum was inked by Govhar Bakhshaliyav, director of the Institute of Oriental Studies, MP and Giuli Alasania, popular turkologist, Georgian President Michael Saakashvili`s mother and charwoman of the Board of Trustees of the Georgian University in the meeting in ANAS.
Libyan popular social figure and scientist, doctor Farida Alaki also participated in the meeting. Touching upon the close friendship and neighborhood relations with Azerbaijan, Govhar Bakhshaliyeva provided information on the institute`s activity. She also highlighted ongoing vital researches, especially, works done in the field of Turkology and Arab study, as well as publication of books in the institute led by her.
Giulia Alasaniya briefed on current state of science, achievements, as well as works done in the sphere of Oriental Studies. “Nowadays, about 70 higher schools are operating in Georgia, which carry out scientific-research works,” she added.
Farida Alaki, in her turn, dwelled on vital importance of science in the every nation`s future, and on recent events in Libya.
