According to the National Hydrometeorology Department of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources (MENR), currently, water richness holds 65-105% of decade norm in the rivers of Major Caucasus, 65-95% in the rivers of Minor Caucasus, 50-80% in the rivers of Lankaran-Astara zone, while 15-20% in the rivers of Nakhichevan AR.

Water consumption holds 300 m3/sec, i.e. 50% of decade norm (in 2011, 104%, being 625 m3/sec) in Giragkasaman settlement of Kura river, while 190 m3/sec, i.e. 97% of decade norm (in 2011, 110%, being 216 m3/sec) in Ayrichay settlement of Ganikh river.


At present, water level holds 370 cm (On June 5, 2011, 596 cm) in Surra settlement, 232 cm (On June 5, 2011, 518 cm) in Shirvan region, 185 cm (On June 5, 2011, 515 cm) in Salyan region, 217 cm (On June 5, 2011, 329 cm) in Banka settlement, while 86 cm (On June 5, 2011, 333 cm) in Novruzlu settlement of Aras river.
