According to the National Hydrometeorology Department of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources (MENR), currently, water richness holds 65-100% of decade norm in the rivers of Major Caucasus, 85-105% in the rivers of Minor Caucasus, 170-200% in the rivers of Lankaran-Astara zone, while 10-15% in the rivers of Nakhichevan AR.

Water consumption holds 463 m3/sec, i.e. 67% of decade norm (in 2011, 99%, being 685 m3/sec) in Giragkasaman settlement of Kura river, while 271 m3/sec, i.e. 136% of decade norm (in 2011, 157%, being 312 m3/sec) in Ayrichay settlement of Ganikh river.


At present, water level holds 390 cm (On May 24, 2011, 715 cm) in Surra settlement, 263 cm (On May 24, 2011, 615 cm) in Shirvan region, 218 cm (On May 24, 2011, 531 cm) in Salyan region, 229 cm (On May 24, 2011, 366 cm) in Banka settlement, while 111 cm (On May 24, 2011, 450 cm) in Novruzlu settlement of Aras river.
