The monitoring started for determining of condition and reasons of landslide activations in Azerbaijan, chief engineer of Complex Hydrogeology and Engineering Geology Expedition of the Ecology and Natural Resources Ministry Shaig Niftiyev reported.
According to him, at first the monitoring will be conducted in Shamakhi region: “Preliminary monitoring has been conducted in 20 landslides areas in Shamakhi and Shirvanzadeh, Meysari, Saghiyan, Baghirli, Jabani, Kaghan and Dadagunash villages. Landslide activations are observed in these places. The corresponding organizations will be informed about the active landslide areas and dynamic processes occurred there”.
Niftiyev said that the monitoring will be continued in Ismayilli, Aghsu and Gobustan regions: “At the same time monitoring will be conducted in Guba, Shabran, Gusar and Khachmaz regions”.
According to him, the landslide activations are observed in the southern regions of the republic: “That’s why the monitoring will be held in landslide areas of Lankaran, Yardimli, Astara and Masalli regions”.
