Baku hosted presentation of preliminary researches within elaboration of Greater Baku Regional Development Plan. At the presentation consultant on elaboration of Greater Baku Regional Development Plan Erkal Keche stated that urbanization process in Baku will cause serious problems for urban regulation.

" For the last 20 years Azerbaijan is developing in high paces and according to official statistics urban population is constantly rising in  the country. As a result urbanization process is going on, population density has considerably increased. The problem is not only rise in the number of Baku population but also constant flow of village population to the city," E. Keche said.

In his words, at that there are also problems in terms of development and execution of these problems’ solution system.

" Speaking on problems and limitation of access to information, I mean local bodies of Baku Executive Power. In connection with economy transference from one stage to the other , the country also has problems with legislative base accomplishment. The process participants have also changed in the new economy, as private sector has become main player of urban development,"  E. Keche said.

In his words, the country government should take into account the expected problems with urbanization process as in accord with research results , in 2030 Baku population will make 10.6 million people.

" And here there will also be serious problems , which will mainly concern local self-governance bodies,"  E. Keche noted.
