The Azerbaijani State City Building and Architecture Committee has been working on schemes for regional planning and natural and territorial organization in the Aran, Ganja-Gazakh, Quba-Khachmaz, Shaki and Lankaran-Zagatala economic regions, Deputy Chairman Dovlatkhan Dovletkxanov said on Monday.
"Plans for the first three areas should be ready in 2012 and ??40, 50 and 60 percent of the work have been conducted on them, respectively. Work on the schemes for the Sheki-Zagatala and Lankaran economic regions should be completed next year," he added.
The preparation of general plans for Ganja, Sumgait, Hyradalan, Sheki, Balakian and Neftchala is underway. "The plans will be submitted to the committee this year," Dovlatkhanov said.
