The Turkish tanker Edirne sank after an explosion in the cargo hold on January 15, three miles from Durres, Albania, on the Adriatic Sea. The tanker unloaded more than 3000 tons of fuel in Durres and was leaving the harbour. Twelve of 15 crew members on board were rescued, but one Azerbaijani citizen and two Georgian citizens died in the accident.
