The Azerbaijani language can be taught during one semester in the Iranian universities, said Mohammadreza Mokhber Dezfouli, Secretary for the Iranian Supreme Council for Cultural Revolution, APA reports.
According to him, the Azerbaijani language can be taught in Iranian universities during 4 months. The participation in the lessons will be voluntarily: The teaching can be realized only within the project of Supreme Council for Cultural Revolution. The Persian Language and Literature Cultural Center must control the lessons.
In 2009 the Iranian Supreme Council for Cultural Revolution developed a project on the teaching of non-Persian language in universities. Though the project considering the teaching of Azerbaijani, Kurd, Turkmen and Baluj languages was included into the agenda and discussed, it hasn’t been still implemented.
