Georgian Prime Minister Nika Gilauri has today expressed satisfaction today with the decreased inflation rate in July.

The government's expectations were justified and the rate decreased, Gilauri said.

He said the downward trend will continue in August.

"Annual inflation hit 8.5 percent in July, which is very good indicator. It should be recalled that at the beginning of the year, we had a major macroeconomic problem related to inflation. The inflation index in April and May hit 14 percent," Gilauri said.
