President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad inaugurated a large steel factory in the provincial city of Ardakan in this central province Monday morning, IRNA reported.

The Ghadeer-e Iranian Steel Factory is located some 25 km from Ardakan in a 85-acre area.

The firm was built with a budget of 70 million Euros and Rls 279 billion and is to produce 800,000 tons of sponge iron annually.

A total of 2,120 direct and indirect jobs will be created by the factory.

President Ahmadinejad arrived in Yazd earlier Monday morning to attend the inaugural ceremony of the factory.

He is accompanied by his Top Advisor Mojtaba Samareh-Hashemi and Minister of Energy Majid Namjou.
